Wow. Picoult really knows how to write a story with meat on its bones. This one grips the reader from the beginning, and it keeps you interested the whole time. The novel is about a high school shooting. It goes into quite a bit of detail, leaping forward and backward in time. From birth to the start of school, to 6th grade and into high school, Peter's life story is told, and it's shocking to hear some of the bullying this kid has to go through. Shocking is an understatement. Not that it is excusable, but one can see why a student might try to take it into his/her own hands to settle the score. Josie is an interesting character as well. She's very conflicted, but she's very brave by the end. Another great one from Jodi Picoult.
