I'm A Book Shark

Freelance copyeditor to all amazing self-published and independent authors. Check out my editing page for more information. <3 Mickey is the blogger behind I’m A Book Shark. She really wishes there was a better explanation for why she’s a book shark. A new twitter name was needed, and it had to be about her favorite hobby: reading! For whatever reason, sharks also came to mind, and a book shark was born. Besides reading, Mickey is a natural reddish-headed, late-twenties, tattooed, entertainment-of-all-kinds lover, wife of husband, mother of reptiles (and a cat and two puppies, all spoiled), student, employee, boss, and (mostly) raw vegan. Oh yeah, and she likes to blog. www.imabookshark.com

I Heart You, You Haunt Me - Lisa Schroeder This one did not blow me away by any means, but I read it quickly and enjoyed it for the most part. I was sadly disappointed at the end though. I'm not the biggest fan of this book, but I would definitely like to read something else by this author. She doesn't always write verse novels, so I might like something else by her. I felt the way her parents felt, which made me feel old. 15 is so young to be so serious! Haha. ;o)

Using verse in this novel seemed to be a bit pointless. She didn't utilize it as well as Ellen Hopkins does, in my opinion. Hopkins has mastered it; Schroeder has a ways to go before she's proficient. Some of the pages just didn't flow right. Some pages worked really well. I guess I just wanted more from this one. Glad it didn't take too long to read.
